The Status of Polypharmacy and Management Strategies in Chinese Patients with Cancer
【Abstract】
The incidence of cancer in China has been steadily increasing owing to population aging and lifestyle changes, making polypharmacy increasingly prevalent among patients with cancer. This article systematically reviews and analyzes the current state of polypharmacy in Chinese patients with cancer, its impact on patient outcomes, and existing management strategies. Furthermore, future directions for enhancing clinical practice and informing policymaking are explored with the goal of improving medication safety, optimizing treatment regimens, and enhancing patient prognosis in China.

Analysis of the Current Status of Polypharmacy Among the Elderly in China
【Abstract】
Polypharmacy among the elderly is prevalent in clinical practice in China, which not only endangers the health of elderly patients and aff ects their quality of life, but also increases medical expenses. This article elaborates on the current status and the commonly used assessments of polypharmacy among the elderly in China, highlighting the importance of deprescription and medication education among elderly patients with polypharmacy to improve medication adherence. It also looks forward to the future trend of family pharmacists and artifi cial intelligence in the intervention of polypharmacy among the elderly patients.

The Status of Polypharmacy and Countermeasures in Japan
【Abstract】
Polypharmacy is harmful and is associated with drug-related issues, including increased adverse events, increased medication errors, poor medication compliance, overdoses and duplicate doses, unnecessary prescriptions, and not prescribing the necessary drugs. Factors contributing to polypharmacy include increased comorbidities and prescription cascades. In polypharmacy, it is important to not only consider prescription content when reducing medications but also to work comprehensively with multiple professions to provide guidance and support regarding lifestyle and medication.

The Current Situation and Countermeasures for Polypharmacy Among the Elderly in Japan
【Abstract】
Polypharmacy refers to the condition in which a patient is taking many drugs and is thus at an increased risk of various adverse events, including geriatric syndrome. Both polypharmacy and related adverse events are prevalent among older adults in Japan, and several efforts have been made to address this diffi cult situation. This review describes the situation in Japan.
