The Application and Progress of Traditional Chinese Medicine in The Treatment of Lymphoma

【Abstract】
Lymphoma is a hematological malignancy with high incidence, easy recurrence, and poor prognosis; furthermore, its treatment is difficult. It has come to be well understood in recent years in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). In patients with lymphoma, TCM can not only restore and enhance the body’s immune function but also improve the patients’ quality of life, prevent recurrence, and prolong survival. This paper discusses the application and progress of TCM in the management of lymphoma based on the Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Lymphoma with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine(2020 edition), in order to provide a reference for the clinical application of TCM in lymphoma treatment.

Advances in Traditional Chinese Medicine Research for the Prevention and Treatment of Cancer

【Abstract】
The incidence of cancer has been increasing in recent years. Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)can play an important role in the prevention and treatment of cancer. Numerous clinical studies have shown that TCM has unique advantages in enhancing the efficacy and reducing the toxicity of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted drugs, and preventing tumor metastasis and recurrence. At the same time, basic mechanistic research of TCM on cancer has progressed. Importantly, TCM not only shows unique advantages in inducing autophagy, promoting cancer cell apoptosis, and reversing drug resistance, but also has a regulatory effect on the immune micro-environment in patients. However, clinical and basic research on TCM for the prevention and treatment of cancer still has some shortcomings. These include the characteristics of TCM treatment and the complexity of TCM components, as well as insufficient knowledge about key target diseases for TCM and its mechanism. Here, we summarize current advances in TCM research with regard to the prevention and treatment of cancer.

Significance of and Evidence for the Use of Kampo Medicine in Supportive Care for Cancer

【Abstract】
Kampo, the traditional Japanese Medicine originating from ancient Chinese Medicine, has been applied for the management of refractory side effects of chemotherapy, such as anorexia, general malaise, and peripheral neuropathy. For example, there are randomized controlled trials on rikkunnshito for anorexia, hochuekkito for cancer-related fatigue, goshajinkigan for peripheral neuropathy, and hangeshashinto for oral mucositis and diarrhea. Kampo is expected to be recognized and demanded by modern medicine doctors as well as patients receiving modern medicinal treatment.
